Midwest Enduro Series Honors Traber And Haugan At 12th Annual Awards Banquet!

January 27, 2007, Milwaukee, WI - The Midwest Enduro Stock Car Series held their 12th annual awards banquet in the Grand Ballroom of the Clarion Hotel. Over 225 attended the formal event to honor the 2006 Midwest Enduro Stock Car Series Champion Darryl Traber and the 2006 Midwest Enduro Small Car Series Champion Mike Haugan..

During the awards ceremonies, over $8,000 in prize money, awards and contingencies were presented. Roz Auto Salvage of Milwaukee sponsored all of the awards presented with Eagle Media Inc. of Muskego co-sponsoring the top five trophies for the Stock Cars and the top three in the Small Cars.

The top 30 drivers in the final 2006 Midwest Enduro Stock Car Series point standings were recognized. The top 10 drivers in the Midwest Enduro Small Car Series were also recognized. Special achievement awards were also presented during the ceremonies.


The 2006 Midwest Enduro Stock Car Series title was the fourth career Series championship for Traber. Traber's consistency was the key to his success as he had only one event out of the top ten, a 12th place finish in the season opener at the Lake Geneva Raceway. The highlight of his season was a win at the Raceway @ Powercom Park (now Charter Raceway Park) on September 23. The win secured the point lead which he held through the last event at LGR. Traber received a large trophy plus a jacket distinguishing himself as the 2006 Midwest Enduro Stock Car Series Champion. A championship crew chief award was presented to Don Mason and the chief scorer award was presented to Jason Traber Additional assistant crew chief awards were presented to Dale Traber, David Traber, Nan DeLany and Brian Traber.

The top five finishers each received a trophy and prize money along with plaque awards that were distributed to their respected crew chief's and scorer's. Along with Traber the top five included; Matt Schlick (2nd), Ryan Nuti (3rd), Craig Phillips (4th) and Tom Arnold (5th). Positions 6-30 were presented plaque awards. Drivers had to attend to receive point fund money. Rounding out the top ten were Tom Barnharst (6th), Tom DeYoung (7th), Pat Kinjerski (8th), Jay LeBrun (9th) and Gerry Galloway (10th).

The 2006 Midwest Enduro Small Car Series Champion was Mike Haugan. A consistent season was key to the championship for Haugan. A third place finish was his season best. Haugan received championship prize money, a championship jacket and large trophy for his efforts. The crew chief award went to Lucas Welch and chief scorer award to Linda Haugan.

The top ten finishers in the 2006 Midwest Enduro Small Car Series were also honored with trophy and plaque awards. Those in attendance also received prize money. The 2006 runner up was Jasyn Brown followed by Dylan Helfenstein (3rd), Roger Schultz jr.(4th), Becky Pinkalla (5th), Louis Chatroop (6th), Rod Brossart (7th), Mike Geringer (8th), Chris Jones (9th) and Steve Doherty (10th).Special Achievement

Special achievement awards were distributed to Al Kuphal, Russ Koralewski, Pete Aschenbrenner, Mike McKay, Jay LeBrun, Brent Lindberg, the Lunsford Racing Team & the Pinkalla Race Team.Sponsor Recognition

Ryan NutiThe Chuck's Radiator 2006 Midwest Enduro Stock CarLouis Chatroop Series "rookie of the year" award was presented to Ryan Nuti. Chuck Pinkalla of Chuck's Radiator presented a plaque award and $250 in prize money to Nuti for his accomplishment. The Chuck's Radiator 2006 Midwest Enduro Small Car Series "rookie of the year" award was presented to Louis Chatroop. Chatroop was presented a plaque award and $150 for his accomplishment.

The B & T Auto Repair 2006 "most improved driver" award was presented to Craig Phillips. Bob Nuti of B & T Auto Repair presented a plaque award and $250 in prize money to Phillips for his achievement.

The T.A. Express, Inc. 2006 "Hard Charger" award was presented to Tom DeYoung. Tom Arnold of T.A. Express, Inc. presented DeYoung with a plaque award and $250 in prize money for his accomplishment.

The sixth annual Erich Iversen SR. "Good Buddy" award was presented to Becky Pinkalla. Pinkalla received a plaque award, mechanix gloves and $200 from Erich Iversen jr.

Series announcer Eric Mueller presented the second annual "Mouth" award to Darryl Traber for his outgoing efforts in support of the Series for many years.

Steve Just presented the fourth annual "women of the year" award to Amanda LeBrun for her contributions to the Series. Amanda was the Series official photographer in 2006.

The crowd was rewarded with great food, music and outstanding speeches during the awards presentations. Many in attendance received a door prize. The Klement's Sausage Co., Old Wisconsin Sausage Co., Tiki Torches, Pinkalla Auto Solutions and the Midwest Enduro Stock Car Series were huge providers of the door prizes handed out during the evening. Many of the drivers and crews also participated in door prizes throughout the evening.

The Finish Line Welding "trailer raffle" was held after the door prizes were given out. Finish Line owner Jay LeBrun completed a trailer with a value of aprox. ($2,500) to be presented at the banquet. Over 150 tickets were sold. The lucky winner of the trailer was Scott Riemer who is the #8 driver in Midwest Enduro Stock Car Series competition.
